How San Francisco actually runs
San Francisco is the hardest city in the state to deliver into, and almost none of the difficulty is driving. It is building access. Downtown towers require a certificate of insurance on file with property management before a driver is let past the lobby, freight elevators have to be reserved, and loading docks in the Financial District close in the early afternoon. A carrier that has not done the paperwork in advance does not get in, no matter how fast the drive was.
Curb space is the second constraint. Between transit only lanes, bike lanes, red zones and a citation cost that makes double parking a bad trade, there is often no legal place to stop within a block of the address. Our drivers plan the stop before they leave, which is why our downtown windows hold and why we do not quote a downtown delivery as though it were a suburban one.
Mission Bay changed what the city needs from a courier. UCSF and the life sciences companies around it move specimens, reagents and clinical trial material that need real temperature control and documented chain of custody at every handoff. That is a different job than carrying an envelope across Market Street, and it is priced and staffed differently.
The legal and financial core still runs on deadlines. Filings that have to be at a counter before it closes, closing documents that have to be at a table, board material that has to be in a room. Those are dispatched to the deadline rather than routed for convenience, with one driver from pickup to delivery and no consolidation.

Can you deliver into a downtown building that requires a certificate of insurance?
Yes, and it is routine. We carry $1,000,000 auto liability, $1,000,000 general liability with a $2,000,000 aggregate and $1,000,000 workers compensation, and we send the certificate to property management before the delivery rather than arguing about it in a lobby. Give us the building and the management contact and we will handle it.
How fast is a STAT pickup in San Francisco?
Ninety minutes from the call to the delivery inside the city. Downtown to downtown is often much faster. Out to Daly City, South San Francisco or down the Peninsula, add drive time, and dispatch will quote the real number rather than a hopeful one.
Do you book freight elevators and dock windows?
Yes. In most San Francisco towers the elevator and the dock have to be reserved, often days ahead, and the window is short. Tell us the address and the floor and we will book it, or work to a reservation you already hold.
Can you transport clinical trial and laboratory material?
Yes. Validated refrigerated units from minus 20F to plus 65F, ambient, refrigerated and frozen handled separately, chain of custody documented at every leg, and $100,000 refrigeration breakdown coverage on top of $1,000,000 cargo liability.
Do you cover the city overnight and on weekends?
Yes. Dispatch is staffed 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Overnight and weekend work is priced differently and dispatch says so up front rather than on the invoice.
Do you run to SFO for air cargo?
Yes. Our drivers hold TSA Security Threat Assessment clearance, which is the driver level requirement for handling airline cargo. We are not an Indirect Air Carrier and we do not hold Known Shipper status, so a shipment needing an IAC tender needs an IAC.
Can you do inside delivery above the ground floor?
Yes. Two person white glove crews handle inside placement, uncrating, positioning and debris removal. Tell us the floor, the door width and the building rules, and we will work to them.
Can you run a recurring daily route in the city?
Yes. Recurring routes price per route rather than per delivery, which is almost always cheaper than booking the same run on demand every day. Most of our city lab and legal work runs this way.
